Book Club (2016)
As part of our inquiry cycle, we invited the staff to participate in a school wide ab-ed focused book club. Our two sessions opened the door for reflective conversations about aboriginal issues in Canada, our local community and the impact these lessons could have on our students and our pedagogy. We wondered if we started with all members of our staff, from administration to educational assistants, what changes could occur in our school community. As evidenced in staff testimonials below, we were happy to see that our conversations sparked the fire for more ab-ed professional development.
